Meet Trav!

Support Worker

Hello!

About Trav

My personal interests are music, working on cars and mechanics, camping and travelling. I am a professional musician and still tour and play shows regularly writing and releasing my own music. I have a couple of project cars that I am working on and love motorsport, especially Rally and local events.

I became a support worker because I made a transition from a full time music career to part time and wanted to work with people and make a meaningful connection like I have done with my music and supporting people with disabilities was a perfect fit.

I am calm and love talking through problems. I like to keep the people I support active and love talking through and making suggestions about activities and suitable paths to having a better experience in life. I feel I am quite creative and have taught people music, painted pictures, custom t-shirts, custom plush toys, performed music with and discussed projects and interests in depth.

My approach to supporting someone is with empathy and understanding. I try very hard to make sure that it does not feel clinical and that there is no barrier between the person with a disability and me. I consider myself friends with all my clients if they are comfortable with that type of relationship and I don’t even like using the word client as these are people in my life that require assistance and I try to give them the best person to person, friend to friend experience I can.
