Meet Monique!
Support Worker
Hello!
About Monique
Outside of work, I am currently in my first year of studying to become a chiropractor, which reflects my strong interest in health, wellbeing, and helping others improve their quality of life. I am also part of the premier league squad for netball at Metro Jets, which keeps me active and reinforces my commitment to teamwork and discipline.
I would describe my personality as calm, adventurous, empathetic, caring, considerate, and patient qualities that support my ability to connect with and understand others. I became a support worker because I was looking for a role that felt truly purposeful, where I could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
I find it incredibly rewarding to see clients grow in independence and achieve their goals, no matter how big or small. Support work has been an interest of mine since I was a teenager, and although I initially planned to study social work at university, I chose to defer and pursue this path instead.
My approach to support work is person centred, ensuring that each individual has a voice in their support. I take the time to ask questions and really listen, allowing clients to guide what they would like to do while I provide encouragement and support along the way.
