Meet Max!
Support Worker
Hello!
About Max
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and engaged through football, gaming, going to the gym, playing golf, and spending time outdoors. I find that connecting over shared interests is a great way to build trust and create meaningful relationships, while also making support sessions more relaxed, engaging, and enjoyable.
My approach to support is person centred, strengths based, and focused on capacity building, ensuring that each individual feels heard, valued, and supported in a way that suits their unique needs and preferences. Within the NDIS framework, I believe support should promote independence, skill development, community participation, and most importantly, choice and control.
I aim to empower participants to work towards their goals in a way that feels encouraging and respectful, without ever being overwhelming. By focusing on what someone can do, rather than their limitations, I support them to build confidence, develop practical life skills, and grow at their own pace while celebrating progress along the way.
Experience
Through my school-based role, I have closely supported individuals with:
● Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
● Intellectual Disability
● Psychosocial Disability
I have experience implementing structured routines, positive behaviour support strategies, emotional regulation techniques, and communication support.
Working within an educational setting has strengthened my ability to stay calm under pressure, adapt to individual needs, and work collaboratively with teachers, allied health professionals, and families.
