Meet Katie!

Support Coordinator

Hello!

About Katie

I’m a proud mum of four, one daughter and three sons, who loves staying active and making the most of life. My family means everything to me, and I value spending quality time together. You’ll often find me at the beach, out for a walk, or catching up with friends and loved ones. I enjoy watching the AFL and especially love supporting my sons at their games. I also enjoy Pilates, which helps me stay strong, balanced and energised, both physically and mentally.

I began my journey in the disability sector working in Plan Management, where I developed a strong understanding of the NDIS, funding and the importance of ensuring participants have the right supports in place to achieve their goals. This experience gave me a great foundation and insight into navigating the NDIS and the value of individualised support.

I then transitioned into support work, where I found a genuine passion for working directly alongside people with disability. I loved helping clients build their independence, get out into the community, stay active and participate in meaningful activities that brought them joy, confidence and a greater sense of wellbeing.

Building on my experience across both Plan Management and direct support, I have stepped into the role of Support Coordination. In this role, I support clients and their families to navigate the NDIS, understand their plans and funding, connect with suitable providers and services, and build a strong network of supports around them. I work collaboratively with clients, families, support workers and allied health professionals to ensure everyone is working towards the client’s individual goals.

Having experience across different areas of the disability sector gives me a well rounded understanding of both the NDIS and the day to day realities of receiving support. As a Support Coordinator, I’m passionate about making the NDIS feel less overwhelming, advocating for the people I work with and ensuring clients feel heard, supported and empowered to have choice and control over their lives.
