Meet Jordy!

Support Worker

Hello!

About Jordy

I love spending time in the sun, whether that’s at the beach, at the gym, or cooking at home. I also enjoy reading, spending quality time with family and friends, and finding ways to put a smile on people’s faces. I’m a big coffee lover and always appreciate a good café moment. I would describe myself as calm yet energetic, understanding, approachable, warm, and friendly, and I genuinely enjoy having a good chat and connecting with others.

I became a support worker because I’ve always been drawn to making a real difference in people’s lives. For me, it’s about more than just meeting needs, it’s about building connection, trust, and creating moments of joy in someone’s day. My journey into this work came from a desire to support others in a meaningful and genuine way, to be present, and to offer care that is thoughtful and impactful, no matter how big or small.

Over time, I’ve learned that sometimes the smallest acts like listening, encouraging, and simply showing up, can have the greatest impact. This role continues to teach me patience, empathy, and the strength found in community, and I feel grateful to do what I love every day.

Experience

I have over 3.5 years of experience working as a support worker, providing high quality care across a diverse range of settings. Throughout this time, I have supported individuals with a variety of disabilities, including intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder. My experience spans across all age groups, from children and teenagers through to adults and the elderly, allowing me to adapt my approach to suit each person’s developmental stage, goals, and support needs. This has enabled me to build strong, meaningful relationships while delivering person centred care that promotes independence, dignity, and overall wellbeing.
