Meet Jess!

Support Worker

Hello!

About Jess

I have had a lifelong passion for playing basketball, having been involved in the sport since I was five years old. It has not only kept me active but also helped shape my teamwork, discipline, and resilience. Outside of sport, I enjoy going for walks along the beach with our dog, which allows me to unwind and stay connected to nature.

I also have a deep appreciation for sunsets and sunrises, finding them both calming and grounding moments in my day. I would describe myself as bubbly, energetic, caring, and supportive, and I naturally bring a positive and encouraging presence to those around me. I chose to become a support worker while studying primary education with a focus on special education at Flinders University, as I have always been drawn to working with gifted students and individuals with diverse needs.

My four years of experience working at Cabra further strengthened my passion for this field and confirmed how much I value this type of work. My approach to support is person centred, ensuring that I actively listen to and respect each individual’s needs, preferences, and goals, while providing compassionate and meaningful support that promotes independence and wellbeing.
