About Hannah
I am currently studying Medical Science and have a strong interest in maintaining a balanced and active lifestyle. I enjoy playing basketball and keeping fit, as well as spending time cooking and reading, which allows me to unwind and stay creative. I would describe myself as calm and easy-going in most situations, but I also have a very energetic side, especially when it comes to getting outdoors, staying active, and trying new experiences.
I began my journey in support work in the aged care sector, driven by a genuine passion for helping others and bringing positivity into people’s lives. I find real fulfilment in supporting individuals with their everyday tasks and activities things that are often taken for granted but can make a significant difference to someone’s independence and wellbeing.
Whether it’s going for a walk, engaging in creative activities, preparing meals, or simply enjoying a relaxed day at home, I am committed to creating a supportive, enjoyable, and meaningful environment. I aim to help each person I work with make the most of their day in a way that aligns with their preferences, interests, and goals.
Experience
I volunteered at Southern Cross Care for 3 years prior to commencing work as a support worker. Over this time, I’ve provided companionship, wheelchair walks, cleaning and catering assistance, and led group based lifestyle activities. I’ve really enjoyed learning how to navigate communication barriers and build relationships with those experiencing mental health conditions, dementia and loneliness. I’ve also worked regularly with children aged 5-12 at holiday sports camps and supported young adults as a university teaching assistant.
