About Emily
I am passionate about supporting people to live their best lives, with a focus on inclusion, respect, and empowerment. I believe everyone deserves the chance to connect, grow, and enjoy meaningful experiences.
When I’m not working, I love being outdoors, whether it’s going for a hike, a run, or simply enjoying nature. I also value quality time with my family, friends, and my puppy Alfie.
I would describe myself as compassionate, patient, approachable, dependable, adaptable, and proactive. These traits allow me to connect with people in a genuine way and build supportive, trusting relationships.
I chose to become a support worker because of my desire to help others and my belief that everyone deserves to be included and live life to the fullest. My approach to support is always person-centred and strengths-based, ensuring that the people I work with are at the heart of everything I do.
Experience
I have supported people with a wide range of needs including intellectual, physical, autism spectrum, psychosocial, seizure disorders, and non-verbal communication. My specialised experience includes PEG feeding, seizure management, supporting communication through devices, and implementing behaviour support strategies.
I have worked with children, teenagers, and adults, adapting my care and support to meet each person’s stage of life and individual goals.
Qualifications
I hold current First Aid and CPR certification, a Working With Children Check (WWCC), and both an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Police Check. I have also completed Manual Handling Training.
I continue to grow my skills through additional training, including:
• PEG feeding
• Epilepsy and Midazolam administration
• Medication safety certification
• Autism awareness training
• Responding to Abuse and Neglect (RAN)
• Masterclass in disability support practices
